Feedback of Parks Plan Needed

The Dubuque Parks and Recreation Board asks for public input on the recently released Parks and Recreation Masterplan. The city’s link has the executive summary and the detailed plan. Check these out and respond with your thoughts and comments before January 5th, one week from today. The Masterplan is filled with statistics for the Parks and Recreation Board, Parks and Rec staff, and other city staff to consider for planning and decisions. Here is the city’s Parks link.

• Trails, either upgraded or expanded, play a prominent role in many parks. What do you think about their observations? See page 440 of the digital document (see the lower right corner in aqua box) for trail recommendations.

• What park amenities besides trails would draw visitors to the parks? Do you have any specific park recommendations?

• Do you see any items that should be a first priority in a specific park for city funds?

• Do parks have a mix of play, contemplation, nature (plant and wildlife), and conservation uses?

• What would make you proud of our city parks?

• What are good uses of park employees time and skills?

• How do we best care for the resources, natural and manmade, we have?
