TMBR News
The Tri-State Mountain Bike Riders (TMBR) are busy as usual, developing Dubuque area trails into a mountain biking destination. In May, the Proving Grounds became home to a new berm on the Push and Pry Trail, according to a Facebook post. The Shakedown Trail has some “fun, punchy improvements,” and several other dirt jump features were built throughout the park.
At the Hirsch Farm, several trails have been cleared of weeds in June for bike rides, hikes, and dog walks. Boasting over six miles of trails, the Hirsch Farm Trails have added directional signage as well. In early July, the South Bluff Trail has been cleared too, which offers steeps climbs, fast descents, and technical aspects for mountain bikers. Runners and hikers will be challenged too. The Hirsch Farm is located at East Timber Road, off of Airport Road, Platteville, Wisconsin, which is closer to Dubuque than the address implies.
Coming on August 4th, TMBR is sponsoring the 10th Annual Mountain Bike Kids Race at Cloie Creek Park in Asbury. Starting at 5 p.m., this race is for “young riders and their families to enjoy the outdoors and some friendly competition,” according to their Facebook Event page. Three divisions will be racing: age 6 and under, 7-9, and 10-12. Food trucks will be available on site.
